Let’s think about it for a moment, the class of 2023 college graduates are part of a generation born in the new millennium.  And starting with middle school a better part of their educational and social interactions has been infused with tech and the latest app.

Quite naturally when applying for a job these recent college grads more than likely will opt to use the newest technology to help present themselves in the most favorable position.

What better way for them to showcase their 3 point something GPA to HR Managers and Talent Recruiting firms by using AI and tools such Chat GPT for guidance and even to write their resumes.

Pause and not so fast. 

Job seekers who use generative AI should be careful, it has been reported that 39 percent of HR professionals said the use of AI tech during hiring is a dealbreaker.

“Generative AI bots (like ChatGPT) have the potential to help both candidates and employers be more productive and communicate better,” commented iCMIS Chief Technology Officer Al Smith. “From resumes and job descriptions to offer letters and onboarding material, the technology offers employers and recruiters a better starting point as they move through the hiring journey.”

Generation X was taught one of the best ways to stand out from the competition is to hand write a thank you letter to the recruiter.  The difference maker for the new generation and their best bet is to write their resumes and cover letters the old-fashioned way, by hand.
